Most often, a metal profile is used to create partitions, which has no high weight and is easy to work with it. To create a drywall partition, such a profile is often used that has a maximum thickness. This thickness will allow you to be sure that this profile will reliably hold your partition.
As for the type of such profile, it should be a figurative shape. In simple words, this profile has one “back” and two shelves to which a drywall sheet will be attached.
As for the use of a wooden profile to create a partition, it can also be used, but such construction will cost you much more. Unless of course you have such a profile at home, then you can easily use it and not spend money on buying a metal profile.
