Laying tiles almost always provides for its cutting. This can be explained by the features of sites near window frames, pipes, walls of walls. Sometimes you need to drill tiles or cut a certain number of holes in it. This work is quite difficult, but with a slight repair, the volume of work does not reach significant scale, so you can cut several tiles on your own.

Cutting this product can be carried out by ordinary glass cutter or a special tile cutter. Before the process itself, it is necessary to soak the tiles in the water for half an hour.

Glass cutter can be used to cut one or two products. Cutting technology is similar in performing such work with glass. However, in this case, the process is quite tiring. In this way you can cut no more than ten tiles. In the future, the process becomes irrational due to excessive labor costs.

To cut significant amounts of tiles, you can use the tile cutter. It has significant advantages that consist in a much larger wheel diameter. This provides a significant depth of cut and the possibility of breaking immediately after applying the first risks. The greatest productivity is electric tile, but it has no fundamental differences from manual.

The first stage of work is the measurement of the part of the product that needs to be cut. To do this, on its front side, a line is drawn using a pencil or marker.

The use of manual tile cutter implies the presence of the following stages of work: fixing inside the device, cutting with a wheeled, breaking into parts. It is necessary to hold the tile at the same level and then advance the cutting wheel to the edge of the product. The main difficulty of work is to ensure the uniformity of pressure during the movement of the working element. Too strong pressure can lead to cracks or breakdown. Therefore, it is necessary to know that the tile cutter is not able to cut surfaces, the thickness of which is below 6 mm.

This work can also be done using an electric tile cutter. To do this, it is necessary to combine the cutting line with the pointer on the device. Then hold the tiles at the same level and slowly advance towards the work disk. The pressure force increases linearly towards the center of the product and then decreases, where at its end it becomes minimal.

The advantage of this device is the ability to choose the circuit on one of the sides of the product, while all other sides remain whole. For this, the desired circuit is indicated on the tile, then using a tile cutter, a series of parallel sections inside this contour is made, which end at the marking line. Then the unnecessary part of the product is removed and the cut is cleaned with sandpaper and a grinding stone.

To align the gear edges of the tiles, plots or nippers are used, with which the uneven edges are bitten off. Alignment and smoothing of sharp edges is carried out by a round file. After this work of the edge of the tile, it is necessary to treat with sandpaper.

The first stage in the drilling of holes is the removal of glaze in the necessary places. At the same time, the tile is laid on a solid even surface, then the icing is cooked by tapping with a hammer according to the instrument. When choosing a product for drilling a hole, it is necessary to pay attention to its surface, which should be absolutely flat. The best way to drill a hole is drilling under water, using a winning or diamond drill, with a slight intensity of revolutions and pressing.
