Polyvinyl chloride (abbreviated PVC) consists mainly of ethylene and bound chlorine. In addition, to give useful properties, modifiers, pigments and stabilizers are added to it.
The latter cause the greatest complaints from environmentalists, as in many cases they contain heavy metal – lead.
At the same time, it shows to keep in mind that lead stabilizers are not pure lead, but stable compounds that contain lead elements in their composition. These compounds do not have a harmful effect on the body.
