Concrete for the foundation

Concrete for the foundation

Concrete for the manufacture and device of the strip foundation is produced in certain proportions from cement, water and aggregate. Most often, crushed stone, gravel or sand is used in the form of a aggregate. For the foundation of a residential building, concrete is usually prepared in this ratio: cement (1 part), sand (2 parts), crushed stone (4 parts). Typically, the volume is calculated by buckets: 2.5 buckets of cement, 5 buckets of sand and 10 buckets of gravel. This mixture is diluted with water to the state where concrete becomes supple. But too much water will lead to the fact that concrete can lose its strength.

The quality of strength is also greatly affected by the aggregate. It should be diverse in order to fill all possible voids. A good aggregate is the sand, which is previously cleansed of impurities.

Gravel and crushed stone is a large aggregate. It is used for more massive and powerful structures. Water for the solution is used clean, without impurities, which negatively affect hardening and setting the astringent. His role is cement. It should be bought on the eve of construction work, since the month of storing this material reduces its strength by 10%, 3 months – 20%, 6 months – 30%.
