Current Status of Knowledge A biochemical paradox Reference to the relation between high folate and low vitamin B-12 as a biochemical paradox was first made by the late Rene Malinow, who expressed concern at the time of the planning for the Vitamin Intervention for Stroke Prevention (VISP) Study, a randomized controlled trial that was designed to assess the effects of high-dose folic acid, vitamin B-12, and vitamin B-6 supplementation on recurrent stroke (36, 37)
Symptoms include difficulty breathing, facial or throat swelling, rapid pulse, severe dizziness, or widespread rash
It is worth being direct here: B12 is not a weight-loss treatment and does not "speed up" metabolism in people with normal levels
10 mg vials, on the other hand, offer more material for extended studies or for applications that require higher or more frequent dosing
They include: Pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site Mild diarrhea or nausea Itching or skin irritation near the injection area A sensation of swelling throughout the body Headache or dizziness These effects typically resolve within 24 to 48 hours and do not require medical intervention
